Nodeless: A Non-KYC Solution for Lightning Bitcoin Payments

June 27 (Cointime) - Jack Dorsey recently tweeted a link to Nodeless, a platform that helps merchants easily accept Bitcoin payments over the Lightning Network without having to run their own Lightning node. Nodeless is similar to OpenNode but offers a non-KYC service, meaning users don't have to share identifying information to begin accepting payments. Although technically a custodial solution, Nodeless promises to give users their funds back quickly. While some Bitcoiners expressed skepticism about the model, Nodeless operates legally in Canada and plans to move to El Salvador where UTXO believes the business will be welcomed.

Fedi Launches Federated Operating System to Achieve Mass Adoption of Bitcoin

June 15 (Cointime) -Obi Nwosu, a long-time Bitcoin advocate, is developing a new project called Fedi with the goal of promoting mass adoption of the cryptocurrency. Fedi's approach involves "Federations," which allow communities to maintain control over their finances, data, and digital lives while safeguarding privacy and autonomy. Recently, Fedi launched a pop-up federation at BTC Prague, providing exclusive features such as access to event schedules, Lightning Network-based sats transfers, and chat messaging.

Strike Expands Lightning Network-based Cross-border Payments Service to Mexico

June 14 (Cointime) - Strike, a digital payments company, is launching its Lightning Network-based cross-border payments service in Mexico, the largest market for remittances from the U.S. The service, called Send Globally, will be available from June 14 and offers cheaper and faster transactions than the base network. The service allows U.S. dollars to be received as pesos in the recipient's bank account. Strike recently moved custody operations in-house and established a headquarters for its global arm in El Salvador, expanding to over 65 countries.
