Botev Plovdiv FC, a Bulgarian football club, has integrated BTC and Lightning Network into its payment system and joined the decentralized protocol Nostr. Fans can use BTC for peer-to-peer payments at the Botev Plovdiv FC store and during Bulgarian Parva Liga matches. The club's Bitcoin director, George Manolov, emphasized the huge opportunities that Bitcoin provides in terms of technology, social impact, and finance.

According to encryption researcher Kevin Rooke's post on X platform, the data shows that the average capacity of the Lightning Network public channel is now close to 8 million satoshis (sat), which is an increase from the mostly 6 million satoshis last year, indicating that larger nodes are deploying larger Lightning Network channels.

This attack is not easy to implement and requires the following conditions to be met: · Open two channels on the victim. · Route payment through one of these two channels. · Successfully replace the victim's HTLC-timeouts in Δ blocks within the two channels. · At the same time, ensure that the victim does not discover the HTLC pre-image transaction. Until this risk is fixed, projects using the Lightning Network should be cautious when establishing channels with upstream and downstream partners, preferably with reputable partners, to reduce the risk of being sandwiched. Further testing and verification are required for specific situations.

Lightning Labs has released "Taproot Assets" on the Bitcoin blockchain, allowing for the issuance of stablecoins and other financial assets built atop Bitcoin via the Lightning Network. The new set of developer tools will enable Bitcoin to become a multi-asset network, taking the protocol to the next financial level.
