Yuga Labs restructures the company and lays off some team members

Yuga Labs is undergoing a restructuring, which led to the layoffs of some team members on Friday. Yuga Labs co-founder Greg Solano, who took over as CEO of the company in February, announced the company's restructuring on social media. Regarding the restructuring announcement, Solano said, "Today is a very difficult day. I am determined to change Yuga and bring us back to our original purpose, which means making difficult decisions. So far, the hardest decision has been to say goodbye to some talented team members."

Yuga Labs releases Otherside update, which will provide users with unified accounts and identities

Yuga Labs has released an Otherside Metaverse update, focusing on foundational work and preparing for rapid iteration and release of new features, as well as providing users with a unified account and identity for easy access to NFTs, wallets, and a range of interactive experiences. Yuga Labs also stated that it will focus on Otherside quality and scalability, currently optimizing its virtual environment and virtual images to meet AAA game standards, setting a new benchmark for the metaverse experience. In addition, Yuga Labs announced the Apes Come Home experience event, marking a milestone in the Otherside journey, allowing 10,000 Ape holders to interact with their NFTs for the first time in a dynamic shared space. After the update was released, the NFT Otherdeed floor price for Otherside metaverse virtual land rose 6% in the past 24 hours to 0.39 ETH.

Wylie Aronow, co-founder of Yuga Labs, stated on social media that Ryder Ripps will have to pay approximately $9 million in legal fees and costs for copyright infringement. Aronow wrote, "Thank you to the court for reviewing all the facts. Thank you to our community for always supporting us. Thank you to our legal team for defending us. Fortunately, we have finally settled with those scammers." According to a tweet by lawyer NeerMcD forwarded by Wylie Aronow, the fees demanded by the lawyer include $6,983,432.62 in fees, $317,295.04 in costs, certain fees for three Yuga Labs experts, and all R&R preparation costs.

The top 10 virtual land NFT sales in 2023 are dominated by Yuga Labs’ Metaverse project

Yuga Labs' project Otherside is still leading the sale of virtual universe land. Based on The Block Research's best-selling NFT list, the 10 most expensive NFTs in the universe this year belong to Otherdeed for Otherside or Otherdeed Expanded. The list is ranked by the dollar value of the NFTs sold and the price of ETH on the day of sale. Eight of the 10 NFTs on this list are owned by NFT collector n0b0dy.eth. Development company Yuga Labs sells one of its gaming companies for about $97.1 million

According to CNBC, Improbable, the development company behind Yuga Labs' metaverse Otherside, which acquired multiplayer game service company The Multiplayer Group (MPG) in 2019, has sold it to Keywords Studios for £76.5 million (approximately $97.1 million).Improbable co-founder and CEO Herman Narula said the deal is part of its "venture investment" strategy, which involves investing in or acquiring teams related to gaming and metaverse, and choosing to expand or split these teams later. While this move suggests that Improbable may reduce its investment in gaming, Narula does not believe that selling MPG means it is reducing its business in this area. Narula said: "We will not sell any technology, nor will we stop working with gaming companies."Keywords, headquartered in Ireland, has more than 70 studios in Los Angeles, France, Brazil, Mexico, and Spain, mainly developing games for third-party developers. MPG was founded in 2018 and is known for its work on games such as "Fallout 76" and "Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond".

Yuga Labs releases "Monkey Jimmy Trial" game roadmap update: EVO 2 upgrade is planned to be launched in the spring of 2024

Yuga Labs has officially announced the progress of the "Monkey Jimmy Trial" game update and added two new roadmaps. After announcing on Monday that he intended to purchase NFTs outside of the Bored Ape Yacht Club series created by Yuga Labs, Aronow went on the craziest shopping spree since the last bull market. According to data from The Block Research, Aronow spent over $1.5 million in total, starting with the purchase of a rare CryptoPunk for 600 ETH ($1.14 million) on Monday.
