Yuga Labs will remove support for all upgradeable contracts and any new series of OpenSea SeaPort

Yuga Labs CEO Daniel Alegre posted on social media that in light of OpenSea's announcement yesterday that they will be phasing out their Operator Filter by February 2024 and instead charging optional creator fees for all secondary sales of all series, Yuga Labs will begin phasing out support for all upgradable contracts and any new series on OpenSea Seaport, with the goal of gradually completing this by February 2024 in accordance with OpenSea's decision. <br>

Class-Action Lawsuit Against MoonPay, Yuga Labs Names Sotheby’s As Defendants

A class action lawsuit is accusing cryptocurrency payment company MoonPay of colluding with Yuga Labs, the developer of Bored Ape Yacht Club, and several celebrities to inflate the value of NFTs. The witness claims to have been one of the few compliance employees at the company who was granted "additional access to files and data related to MoonPay customer financial transactions" during 2022. The complaint alleges that they were unable to find any information on celebrity clients, including basic personal profile information, compliance data, or any transaction history.

nWay, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has announced the launch of a new NFT fighting game called "Wreck League" in September. The game will allow players to build their own machines using interchangeable NFT parts and compete in 1v1 PVP battles. The game will also feature some of the biggest IP in town, with Yuga Labs lending its BAYC, MAYC, BAKC, and Kodas to the project. The game will launch on both PC and mobile devices and will be available on a Web3 platform initially, with a free-to-play Web2 environment opening later.

Yuga Labs' Latest Video Game Forge Retains Twice as Many Users as Previous Title

Yuga Labs, the web3 studio behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, has announced that its latest video game, Forge, is retaining twice as many users as its previous title, Dookey Dash. According to Yuga Labs Chief Gaming Officer Spencer Tucker, Forge has a day 10 retention rate of 42%. Tucker also noted that Dookey Dash led to many gamers setting up new wallets and that the vast majority of players who tried the game did not own a Yuga NFT. To play Forge, gamers need to own one of 30,000 HV-MTL NFTs, which have generated close to $64 million in trading volume since launching in March.
