Grayscale: Bitcoin may hit new all-time highs later this year

Grayscale lobbies the U.S. SEC to approve options products based on spot Bitcoin ETFs

Cryptocurrency asset management company Grayscale Investments has written to the US SEC to lobby for the approval of options products based on spot bitcoin ETFs. Grayscale CEO Michael Sonnenshein wrote in the letter to the SEC that the regulator's rejection of options for its Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC.P) unfairly discriminates against its shareholders and pointed out that regulatory authorities have previously approved options related to bitcoin futures ETFs. Sonnenshein stated that options would facilitate price discovery for new ETF shares, which would help investors navigate market conditions, hedge, and generate income. In addition, options would "further bring bitcoin into regulatory purview by allowing more regulated market participants" such as contract traders and broker-dealer firms to trade the product.

According to Arkham data, at 22:09 on February 29th, Grayscale transferred 2947 BTC to the Coinbase Prime Deposit address and transferred 2688 BTC to three new addresses.

Arkham monitoring reported that the Grayscale associated address transferred 2,204 BTC to the Coinbase Prime deposit address (3Chmt) about 2 hours ago, equivalent to approximately $134 million. Subsequently, the Grayscale Coinbase Prime deposit address (3Chmt) transferred 2,204 BTC to an address marked as "Coinbase Prime: Hot Wallet (3MqUP)" about 15 minutes ago.

Arkham monitoring shows that about 30 minutes ago, a Grayscale address transferred about 776.6 BTC, worth about $39.8 million, to a Coinbase Prime address.

Grayscale CEO: Since winning the SEC lawsuit last year, we have often received merger and acquisition proposals and are open to them.

Michael Sonnenshein, CEO of Grayscale Investments, stated in an interview with CNBC that since winning a high-profile legal battle with the SEC last year, Grayscale has been receiving proposals related to mergers and acquisitions. While Grayscale is open to these proposals, there is currently no progress to report.

Grayscale GBTC had a net outflow of US$44.2 million yesterday, and Bitwise BITB had a net inflow of US$12 million.

On February 23, Grayscale's GBTC saw a net outflow of $44.2 million, while Bitwise's BITB saw a net inflow of $12 million and Franklin's EZBC saw a net inflow of $1.5 million.
