Donald Trump’s first official NFT collection was the talk of the crypto world late last week, captivating Twitter and late night TV in the process. But after prices and trading volume surged over the weekend, both metrics have fallen sharply as the hype around the disgraced former U.S. president’s project is apparently fading.

The recently-released non-fungible token (NFT) collection by former US President Donald Trump, is being heavily criticized over its poor quality and editing and using stock images among other things.

According to OpenSea data, the floor price of the first NFT series "Donald Trump Digital Trading Card" issued by former US President Trump broke through 0.6 ETH, and is now reported at 0.609 ETH, a 24-hour increase of 308%.

NFT collections from former United States President Donald Trump are topping secondary market charts, and at least some of the sales came from NFT traders who bought in as a joke.

A 45,000 item NFT trading card collection created by the former U.S. president Donald Trump sold out within hours and has already racked up more than 648 ETH, or about $785,000, in trading volume, according to OpenSea data. 

It’s a shame that such a high-profile set lacked any and all imagination when it came to design. A low-effort failure in the generative NFT world.
