Vitalik: Never Sold ETH for Personal Gain Since 2018

On October 18th, Vitalik stated on social media that if you see an article saying that Vitalik sent XXX ETH to a trading platform, it's not actually me selling, but almost always me donating to certain charities, non-profit organizations, or other projects, and the recipients are selling because they need to pay for expenses. Since 2018, I haven't "sold" ETH for personal gain. As previously reported by Jinse Finance, on October 17th, a $15 million USDC transaction involving Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin caught the attention of blockchain tracking platforms.

Although blockchain analysis company PeckShield pointed out on its platform that Vitalik's "vitalik.eth" wallet transferred $14.93 million to the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange on October 16th, a spokesperson for the Ethereum Foundation clarified to Cointelegraph that this was just a signature operation using Buterin's Ethereum Name Service (ENS) from a charity multi-signature wallet associated with him, and did not actually transfer from Buterin's wallet. The $14.93 million USDC assets originally came from Kanro, a biotechnology charity sponsored by Buterin, aimed at solving Covid and other pandemic-related issues.
