Openfort, a crypto infrastructure startup, has raised $3 million in seed funding to develop its "wallet-as-a-service" software product for game developers and publishers. The firm aims to offer video game studios "frictionless" wallet technology that is compatible with browser games, PC games built in Unity and Unreal Engine 5, and mobile games.

Openfort's investors see the startup's approach to "account abstraction" as a method that simplifies and improves the gaming experience. The company's wallet solution will be white-label, meaning game developers can fully customize the software and design their own user interfaces without a trace of Openfort's branding. However, Openfort's wallet offering will have to compete with other firms in the already-competitive market.
