A malfunctioning maximal extractable value (MEV) sniping bot caused users to lose over $400,000 when it sent 160 ETH to the wrong Uniswap V3 pool. The bot was intended to snipe the launch of Poo Finance tokens, and users paid 80 ETH in bribes for priority access. However, the bot targeted a smaller pool with fewer token supplies, resulting in the loss of funds. Another bot swept the excess ETH from the Uniswap router, paying 0.43 ETH to claim the extra $196,000. The validators were the biggest winners from these transactions.
