OpenAI, the startup behind the widely used conversational AI model ChatGPT, has closed its new funding round of more than $10.3 billion, TechCrunch has learned.

Mayhem Studios, the mobile game development unit of Mobile Premier League (MPL), has raised $20 million in a Series A round led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Steadview Capital, Truecaller, and others. The funds will be used to develop new gaming titles in India and ramp up the company's capabilities.

The extradition of TerraForm Labs founder Do Kwon from Montenegro has been requested by both the U.S. and South Korea, Justice Minister Marko Kovac said at a Wednesday press conference.

Those startups include Alchemy, Blockchain.com, Chainalysis, Kraken, ConsenSys, Blockdaemon, CoinDCX and OpenSea.

FTX’s investment arm, Alameda Research, has struck a $45 million cash deal to sell its interest in Sequoia Capital to the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

Sequoia Capital, the creator of “Inspector Gadget,” Signature Bank and others linked to defunct crypto exchange FTX were slapped with a class action lawsuit this week, which alleges the defendants knew about the alleged fraud at the company and “did not care.” 

The company just closed a $6 million seed round, co-led by Multicoin Capital and Sequoia Capital. Circle Ventures, Solana Ventures, and Paxos also participated in the round. Along with the recently raised funds, TipLink is also releasing its API, which developers can use to programmatically generate TipLinks.

Users of bankrupt crypto exchange FTX have reportedly taken aim at financiers who promoted the platform suggesting their efforts added an “air of legitimacy” to the now-defunct exchange, a case labeled as "tricky" by a crypto lawyer.

Caldera, which provides infrastructure for Web3 applications, has raised $9 million across two funding rounds led by traditional finance giant Sequoia Capital and crypto-native firm Dragonfly.

There were 14 Web3 start-ups from around the world and 135 Web3 investors registered for the event.
