The legal teams representing Alameda Research, FTX US, and FTX Trading have filed a complaint against the Bahamas-based FTX Digital Markets, claiming the company was a “fraudulent enterprise” used as a shell entity to obfuscate the question of the firm's ownership.
FTX Digital Markets, the crypto exchange’s Bahamian entity, commingled customer and corporate funds, according to a report filed in court earlier this month.
The FTX Debtors, made up of FTX and its affiliated debtors, and FTX Digital Markets (FTX DM), the Bahamian subsidiary of FTX, announced Jan. 6 that they have reached a cooperation agreement regarding the FTX Debtors’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy case in Delaware and the provisional liquidation of FTX DM in the Bahamas.
