Dogecoin Annual Carbon Emissions Decline by 25% with Help from Elon Musk. The crypto asset recorded 1,063 tons of carbon emissions last year. 

Research shows that Dogecoin (DOGE) was the only memecoin in 2022 to proactively reduce its carbon footprint — a key metric for mainstream adoption —  by 25% in one year, thanks to the intervention of developers and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

After collapsing more than 80 percent over the course of last year, Solana is having a stellar in 2023. The price of SOL has more than doubled this month, rising more than 58 percent to $23.70 in the last seven days, according to CoinGecko.

According to data by CoinGlass, short traders suffered around $457 million across major centralized exchanges over the past day. Crypto exchange OKX took the lion’s share of these liquidations at over $241 million, followed by Binance at $116 million.

The newly minted canine-centered memecoin BONK is having a roller coaster ride for the past few weeks since it was first introduced. The Solana-based token, which abruptly sprang from nowhere and pushed its way into the top 200 cryptocurrencies by market value, was severely impacted by a major bearish trend late on Thursday noon.

Dogecoin has now begun to attract the interest of large crypto whales, which has resulted in a price increase of more than 10% over the course of the last twenty-four hours.

Dogecoin raced to a multi-week high on Jan. 5, as meme coins rose higher following recent days of consolidation. The coin climbed for a second straight session on Thursday, which comes ahead of Friday’s U.S. nonfarm payrolls numbers. Shiba inu was also in the green, after today’s gains.

The Dogecoin Foundation announced a new fund for Dogecoin Core developers to promote the Dogecoin ecosystem further in the new year. 

The RBI’s goal with the pilot is to initially assess the feasibility of creating, distributing, and using digital rupees at retail. Following the success of this pilot, other pilots will be conducted to try out various aspects and use cases of the e-Rupee token and underlying structure.
