From next week, America’s most popular crypto exchange Coinbase will stop supporting XRP. According to the exchange’s <a href="https://help.coinbase.com/en/wallet/getting-started/what-types-of-crypto-does-wallet-support" target="_blank">official website</a>, Coinbase wallet will no longer support Ripple’s native token as of 5 December 2022.

XRP News: XRP, Ripple’s native crypto has faced much resistance from different platforms due to the US SEC launching a lawsuit against it. However, these troubles haven’t stopped whales from accumulating the token. However, positive XRP news coming from the crucial lawsuit has helped it to stay relevant in the market.

Coinbase Wallet recently announced that it would stop supporting ETC, XRP, BCH, and XLM. The reason behind the move is the tokens’ low usage.

Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, has hired new executives to lead its opportunities to expand in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

According to Coinbase, January 23 will be the deadline for users to view and transfer their tokens to another wallet provider. They will then have to import their recovery phrases to the new wallet to use their assets. The Coinbase Wallet comes preconfigured to work with the following networks: Arbitrum, Avalanche C-Chain, BNB Chain, Gnosis Chain, Fantom Opera, Optimism, Polygon, xDai, and Solana. Binance.US and Coinbase (COIN) are on a list of crypto companies questioned this week by the chairman of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee about how they protect the investors using their services in light of the widespread damage caused by the fall of FTX.

Citing low usage, Coinbase Wallet announced it will no longer support assets like Ripple (XRP) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) among others. The team announced December 5, 2022 as the deadline to stop support for a total of cryptocurrencies. Users will be able to access their holdings in these assets through the <a href="https://coingape.com/tag/coinbase/">Coinbase</a> Wallet recovery phrase, it said. With this, these networks will lose support to access Dapps on the networks.

Crypto exchange Coinbase is reinforcing its European senior positions with a series of new hires and promotions, Bloomberg reports.

Coinbase experienced withdrawals totaling roughly $2 billion worth of BTC over the weekend of Nov. 26 to Nov. 27, bringing the total amount withdrawn since Nov. 24 to $3.5 billion.
