Bitstamp, a European cryptocurrency exchange, has received in-principle regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for its Major Payment Institution (MPI) license. This will allow Bitstamp to offer digital payment token services in Singapore. Bitstamp is the first crypto exchange with a major European Union presence to secure in-principle approval in Singapore. The exchange will focus on serving financial institutions and intermediaries, such as payments processors, fintechs and brokerages. South Korean firm Upbit was the last crypto exchange to obtain full licensing in Singapore, which was awarded its MPI license in January.

According to a post by Bitstamp on the X platform, Glassnode mistakenly stated that Bitstamp lost 38% of its Bitcoin reserves in a data set, when in fact the net outflow was only 1%. Previously, on November 22nd, cryptocurrency exchange Bitcoin outflows reached $600 million, mainly from two platforms, Binance and Bitstamp. According to Whale Alert data, at 02:55 today, 29,700,000 XRP ($15,040,591) was transferred from an unknown wallet to Bitstamp.
