BitKeep, a decentralized multi-chain Web3 DeFi wallet, has announced that its total user count has exceeded 10 million as of April. BitKeep's Arbitrum campaign saw the successful launch of ARBK, which registered a total of 708,800 on-chain transactions and was airdropped to more than 100,000 active users who participated in campaign-related tasks and activities. BitKeep NFT Market topped the charts by trading volume on BNB Chain while also leading with respect to the number of active wallets on Polygon. BitKeep is also working on features related to Web3 DID and is in the process of supporting the ZK-Rollup ecosystem. BitKeep has reimbursed 11,090 wallets affected by the incident, and its customer service channels remain open to processing "irregular" claims and appeals. The wallet will rebrand to Bitget Wallet following a $30 million investment from Bitget, a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, and will have access to Bitget's $300 million Bitget User Protection Fund for future security threats. BitKeep CEO Kevin Como will step down, and Karry Cheung will become the new CEO. BitKeep plans to develop new technologies for the Bitget Wallet, including multi-party computation, account abstraction, decentralized identity, and zero-knowledge roll-ups.

While overall funding in Web3 was down last year from 2021, several top investors in the space such as Shima Capital, Animoca Brands and Y Combinator saw their numbers tick up in 2022, according to Crunchbase data.
