Apple Savings Customers Report Severe Delays in Withdrawing Deposits due to Goldman Sachs' Anti-Money Laundering Efforts

Customers of Apple's new savings service, launched in partnership with Goldman Sachs, are experiencing significant delays in withdrawing or moving their deposits. The funds are being held under "security review" to ensure depositors are not involved in criminal money laundering. This delay is particularly frustrating for customers who deposited large amounts, as Apple has been heavily marketing the above-average interest rate on its savings service. The incident highlights a larger shift in traditional banking towards an increasingly automated and disinterested approach to retail depositors. This, combined with an opaque anti-money laundering regime, raises questions about whether bank deposits truly belong to the customer.

Apple Announces $3,000 Mixed Reality Headset With Potential for 3D Printed Electronics

Apple has finally unveiled its first mixed reality headset, the Apple Reality Pro, which combines augmented and virtual reality and is priced at $3,000. The incorporation of Aerosol Jet technology into the design could revolutionize the consumer electronics industry, allowing for a smaller and more lightweight product. Meta, the social media-turned-metaverse giant, may also be utilizing this technology to shrink the size of its devices, including the newest Quest Pro headset. As both companies release new headsets, the use of electronics 3D printing will likely become more widespread and could lead to a shift in global manufacturing.

Apple Takes a Bite of OpenAI's ChatGPT Pie with Native In-App Purchasing System

OpenAI's ChatGPT app has gained popularity and reached the top of the App Store charts, but Apple is quietly profiting from it through their 30% cut on all new subscriptions made through iOS. Despite criticism, OpenAI has chosen to use Apple's native in-app purchasing system instead of setting up a separate subscription website. This means that for every ChatGPT Plus subscription, Apple takes $6 of the $20 paid monthly by iOS users. While Apple's CEO has voiced commitment to integrating AI into their products, the company's pursuit of profit is still evident. The intricate dance between AI pioneers, big tech, and regulators continues as the AI revolution unfolds.
