Amazon is putting the finishing touches to its in-house NFT initiative, according to sources directly familiar with the matter. And at least one document suggests that Amazon is set to feature digital collectibles from top crypto-native creators including Beeple and Pudgy Penguins.

Amazon has sent an official email to its customers teasing the launch of a new digital tokens platform called Amazon Gallery. The email mentions that the platform will allow customers to buy, sell, and trade digital tokens, including non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

On Friday afternoon, CoinDesk's managing editor for global policy and regulation, Nikhilesh De, received an email from an official Amazon account appearing to confirm the existence of digital tokens and a gallery on the e-commerce platform.

Having the world’s largest e-commerce platform, Amazon, launching a marketplace for trading non-fungible tokens, or distributing NFTs, has been a subject of speculation in the crypto space for quite some time. The speculations have been increasing, with sources claiming it could be as soon as next month.

Amazon is laying the groundwork to give its customers the ability to purchase NFTs tied to real-world assets that are delivered to their doorstep, according to three sources familiar with the matter.

According to sources, Amazon plans to launch the “Amazon Digital Marketplace” on April 24. The platform will start offering the service to U.S. customers first and will gradually roll out to other countries.

Internet of Service Token (IOST) network’s native token rose 8% to as high as $0.01269 following its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
