Since its steep drop last December, Cardano [ADA] has lost about 20% of its value and hit a new low at $0.2415 until press time. The $0.2415 support was strong enough for the bulls to initiate a rally.

On Thursday (29 December 2022), crypto analytics startup Santiment, which provides tools that make “powerful OnChain, Social & Financial analysis accessible to anyone”, commented on the 2022 development activity of the major blockchains.

Cardano has led overall development activity for 2022 despite the bearish market conditions, according to a Santiment Feed insight shared in a tweet today.

Just like many other crypto assets, ADA, the native token of the popular smart contract platform, Cardano, has greatly underperformed this year despite the execution of the critical Vasil upgrade. Notably, data show that ADA is down 81.99% in the last 12 months and is currently trading for $0.2524 per coin, at the time of writing.

Santiment recently shared charts revealing a massive surge in ADA accumulation and exhaustion of sellers.

Cardano sharks seem to be splurging more money towards ADA at current discounted prices. According to on-chain and social metrics platform Santiment, ADA key shark addresses now hold 4 billion ADA after accumulating 331M more since the FTX implosion. Sharks for this particular cryptocurrency as addresses which hold 10,000-100,000 ADA.

Cardano shark addresses (holding 10K to 100K ADA) have been on an accumulation trend since June when the market witnessed the coldest touch of the Winter yet. Following an aggressive surge in momentum at the start of the FTX saga, these shark addresses currently hold a cumulative balance of 4 billion ADA, the largest in a year and a half.
