Character AI Receives $150M Funding in Chatbot Development from a16z and Others

Andreessen Horowitz(a16z) has invested $150m in software development firm Character AI, the developer of a chatbot bearing the same name. The series A funding round also included money from Nat Friedman, A Capital, SV Angel and Elad Gil. The funding will enable the company to grow during its “hypergrowth phase", according to a blog post by the firm.
