Cointime Official

KuCoin has reported that its Twitter account was compromised for about 45 minutes on April 24, resulting in losses for several users. A fake activity was posted during this time, which led to asset losses. However, KuCoin has assured its users that their assets on the exchange are secure.

The exchange has confirmed that only its Twitter account was affected by the breach and that it immediately retrieved control of the account from official Twitter support. KuCoin has promised to reimburse all verified asset losses caused by the social media breach and the fake activity.

KuCoin has identified 22 transactions, including ETH/BTC, associated with the fake activity, with a total value of 22,628 USDT. To prevent further harm to users, the exchange is currently examining and blocking suspicious addresses.

The KuCoin team has also announced that it will implement additional security measures to fortify the protection of its social media accounts. The exchange is conducting a thorough investigation of the incident with Twitter to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

KuCoin has urged its users to refrain from opening any links that impersonate the http://kucoin.com domain to protect themselves. The exchange has promised to keep its users updated on the progress of the investigation.
