Record and entertainment label Warner Music Group (WMG) is partnering with digital fashion platform DressX to create virtual merch, or “verch”, for artists’ fans to flex in the metaverse.
Through the partnership, items such as digital concert T-shirts and sweatshirts will be available in 3D and augmented reality and shareable via social media platforms including Instagram and Snapchat. Participating artists have not yet been revealed, but WMG represents the likes of Madonna, Cardi B and Coldplay. As part of the partnership, WMG will also invest in DressX. The investment amount has not been disclosed; DressX has previously raised $3.3 million.
