UpCodes has launched an AI-based tool called Copilot, which assists industry professionals and homeowners in navigating building codes. Copilot uses UpCodes' constantly updated database to answer complicated code questions and provide links to relevant code sections. The tool is focused on jurisdiction-specific codes and collects additional data based on a user's location and permit year to ensure it only uses relevant codes. UpCodes has raised $3.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Building Ventures, bringing its total raised to $7.6 million, which will be used to expand its code library and resources and hire for its engineering department.
