Tribe Capital, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, plans to launch a $250 million fund dedicated to the Indian market. The fund will be managed by a local team based in New Delhi and will invest in sectors such as artificial intelligence, software, and fintech.
Despite the funding crunch and struggles faced by many late-stage startups in India, Tribe Capital remains bullish on the market. The firm's previous investments in India include logistics aggregator Shiprocket, trucking platform BlackBuck, and digital record-keeping platform Khatabook.
Tribe Capital differentiates itself from traditional VC firms by making investment decisions based on data modelling.
