Global Search Interest for AI Reaches All-Time High, But Still Falls Short of Bitcoin's 2017 Peak Mania

Google search interest for "AI" has hit a new all-time high globally, but it still falls short of the peak search interest for Bitcoin during its 2017 frenzy.

Despite recent headlines about AI, some have labeled it as the latest "tech fad" following crypto and the Metaverse. While the United States and global search interest for AI has reached a fever pitch, it is still below Bitcoin's peak search interest of 100 in December 2017.

In China, where cryptocurrency is banned and Google search is restricted, AI consistently receives more search interest than Bitcoin on a monthly basis.

A mid-term approach to price modelling Bitcoin is something entirely new, something never before observed. Because of this, many of the trusted tools in our financial toolkits might simply not do a very good job of modelling its performance, and it’s causing apprehension among analysts who are used to deploying certain modelling tools to make sense of asset pricing.
  • Heatwave

The Bitcoin block reward is forecast to halve on April 20th. This is seen as a bullish catalyst for crypto markets. I agree that it will pump prices in the medium term; however, the price action directly before and after could be negative. The narrative of the halving being positive for crypto prices is well entrenched. When most market participants agree on a certain outcome, the opposite usually occurs. That is why I believe Bitcoin and crypto prices in general will slump around the halving.

The $40 billion target will dwarf the typical financing scale of American venture capital firms. They cautioned that plans may still change. According to four insiders, Saudi representatives have mentioned to potential partners that the country is seeking support for a range of tech startups related to artificial intelligence, including chip manufacturers and expensive, large data centers that are increasingly necessary for the development of next-generation computing. Saudi Arabia is even considering starting its own artificial intelligence company.
