The Block, citing people briefed on the matter, reported that cryptocurrency trading platform FTX US is encouraging staff to move to its new Miami headquarters by mid-November. While FTX’s other offices in the U.S. are not completely closed, they are downsizing as the startup looks to centralize its staff in Miami. A source added that the move attempts to keep staff in one place and ensure they can communicate well. Currently, most of the available jobs on FTX’s job search page are located in Miami.
The move comes on the heels of SBF’s announcement that it will relocate its FTX US headquarters from Chicago to Miami. In an interview with Bloomberg, SBF said that having offices worldwide is key to the company’s ability to secure various business licenses. FTX relocated its global headquarters from Hong Kong to the Bahamas in September.
