Checkmate, a startup that aims to eliminate the need for promo codes when shopping online, has raised $15 million in Series A funding. The company's rapid growth is notable, with over 400,000 users, including 60,000 daily active users, and 600,000 followers on TikTok and Instagram.
The breadth of its investor base is also noteworthy, with participation from Google Ventures, Mantis VC, and Paris Hilton, among others. Checkmate's free iPhone app pulls all shopping into one place, tracks packages, and saves users money on 40,000 online stores through an affiliate model.
The company plans to create a personalized shopping assistant and become the go-to marketing platform for online stores.
