Fox Business host Charles Gasparino paints a dark future scenario for the broader crypto market and shared his view on what consequences the industry could face if the SEC wins against Ripple. Gasparino wrote via Twitter:

Stuart Alderoty, General Counsel at Ripple, recently highlighted the part played by the U.S. SEC in the recent crypto contagion triggered by the FTX implosion. According to him, Congress should examine the financial regulator’s policies that might have contributed to the contagion. Alderoty believes some of these policies were beyond the SEC’s jurisdiction.

Gasparino expects an unfavorable outcome in crypto if Ripple loses its case against the SEC.

The Flare (FLR) token airdrop started on Mon., Jan. 9, nearly two years after a snapshot of Ripple (XRP) holders took place on Dec. 12, 2020. The FLR airdrop was distributed at a ratio of 1.0073 FLR per 1 XRP and the initial distribution saw 15% of the total supply released to the community.

Those holding $XRP back on December 12, 2020, have finally started receiving their Flare ($FLR) token airdrop, with 15% of the cryptocurrency’s total supply now being sent to holders at the time of the snapshot, and the rest set to be distributed over the next three years.

XRP holders on collapsed cryptocurrency lending platform Celsius might still be able to receive their Flare (FLR) airdrop.

Over 4.28 billion FLR tokens were shared and distributed to XRP holders who held at least one token during a snapshot in December 2020. The airdrop was conducted on a 1:1 basis, meaning one FLR for every XRP held.

Ripple recently moved 50M XRP ($17.4M) amid the hurdle faced by the asset in its latest campaign to recapture the $0.35 price point. The 50M tokens moved by Ripple are part of 122M+ XRP recently shuffled by whales as the community witnesses significant updates on the legal battle between Ripple and the U.S. SEC.

The SEC stated that Ripple’s sealing requests should be narrowed to overcome the presumption of public access to information.
